The RAVPower 120W 4-port charging station is meant to sit your desktop and supply power to your laptops, phones and tablets. Thankfully, there is no power brick to sit on the floor or oversized plug to block your outlets. The unit is fairly self-contained besides the AC input cord.

The dimensions of the charging block are 3.3 x 1.8 x 1.8in. It doesn’t take up much room on your desk and the two USB-C and two USB-A ports are located conveniently on the front.

Features

  • Two USB-C ports: This allows you to charge two devices at the same time, such as two laptops. When a single port is in use, the charger can output up to 100 watts, but when charging two devices, then each USB-C port receives a maximum of 60 watts (120 watts total).
  • Two USB-A ports: In addition to charging USB-C devices, this RAVPower charger can also charge your phones and tablets thanks to the two “regular” USB-A ports on the front.
  • Dim LED: The green LED is dim and shouldn’t keep you up at night if you’re using the charger in the bedroom.

Performance

These tests were performed with 1 USB-C port of the RAVPower 120W PD desktop charger in use.

Nintendo Switch

The RAVPower PD wall charger successfully supported the Nintendo Switch’s 15V charging profile, allowing you to play in handheld mode and charge at the same time.

Dell Chromebook

The RAVPower PD wall charger supported my Dell Chromebook’s 20V profile, allowing it to charge at full speed.

Acer R13 Chromebook

The Acer R13 Chromebook doesn’t officially support the Power Delivery standards, but the RAVPower PD wall charger was able to support its 15V and 45 watt profile.

Lenovo 14W Laptop

My Lenovo 14W Laptop (powered by Ubuntu!) was able to be charged with its 20V profile with the RAVPower PD wall charger.

Technical Specifications

  • USB-C PD Output: 5V⎓3A, 9V⎓3A, 15V⎓3A, 20V⎓5A
    • 100 watt max for either port when one port is in use
    • 60 watt maximum per port maximum when both ports are in use (120 watt maximum total output)
  • USB-A iSmart Output: 5V⎓3A, 9V⎓2A, 12V⎓1.5A
    • 18W maximum for each port
9.3Expert Score
Great

The RAVPower 120W 4-Port Desktop USB Charging Station is ideal if you have multiple USB-C compatible devices to charge in addition to smaller phones and tablets that can charge from a USB-A port. The charging station is fairly self-contained and does not block other outlets.

The design of this RAVPower 40W charger is very similar to RAVPower’s 65W charger that we previously reviewed, coming in at just a hair smaller. Thanks to the GaN technology, RAVPower is able to make these chargers surprisingly compact, making them ideal for travel.

There is a small blue LED that lights up any time the charger is receiving power. The LED is not very bright and should be fine for a dark bedroom at night.

The dimensions of the charging block are 2.04 x 2.04 x 1.18 in. It’s only a little bit larger than the Apple 20W USB-C charger, but gives you twice the ports and double the power!

Features

  • Two USB-C ports: This allows you to charge two devices at the same time, such as two phones. Many laptops need at least 30 watts to charger, which this charger can provide if only one port is in use.
  • Foldable plugs: Being able to fold the prongs makes this charger ideal for travel.
  • Dim LED: The blue LED is dim and subtle, so it shouldn’t keep you up at night if you’re using the charger in the bedroom.

Performance

These tests were performed with 1 port of the RAVPower PD wall charger in use.

Nintendo Switch

The RAVPower PD wall charger successfully supported the Nintendo Switch’s 15V charging profile, allowing you to play in handheld mode and charge at the same time.

Dell Chromebook

The RAVPower PD wall charger supported my Dell Chromebook’s 12V profile, allowing it to charge quickly, but not at full speed which would be using the 20V profile.

Acer R13 Chromebook

The Acer R13 Chromebook doesn’t officially support the Power Delivery standards, but the RAVPower PD wall charger was able to support its 12V profile and charge it. However, it was not able to achieve full speed charging which would have been at 15V.

Lenovo 14W Laptop

My Lenovo 14W Laptop (powered by Ubuntu!) was able to be charged with its 20V profile with the RAVPower PD wall charger.

Technical Specifications

  • PD Output: 5V⎓3A, 9V⎓3A, 12V⎓2.5A, 15V⎓2A, 20V⎓1.5A
  • 30 watts max each port and a 40 watt maximum of the two ports combined

While the RAVPower 40W 2-Port USB-C charger is ideal for fast charging two iPhones at the same time, it can also charge other USB-C devices such as Chromebooks and the Nintendo Switch when only using one port.

The dimensions of the charging block are 2.2 in x 2.2 in x 1.2 in. It’s only a little bit larger than the Apple 20W USB-C charger, but gives you twice the ports and 3 times the power!

Features

  • Two USB-C ports: This allows you to charge two devices at the same time, such as a laptop and a phone. It’s important to note that the two ports combined cannot exceed 65 watts (so if one port is using 45 watts, the remaining port can only output a maximum of 20 watts)
  • Foldable plugs: Being able to fold the prongs makes this charger ideal for travel.
  • Dim LED: The blue LED is dim and shouldn’t keep you up at night if you’re using the charger in the bedroom.

RAVPower PD Power Bank

RAVPower’s own PD Power Bank supports a 60 watt input, which this wall charger is able to provide at 20V.

Technical Specifications

  • PD Output: 5V⎓3A, 9V⎓3A, 12V⎓3A, 15V⎓3A, 20V⎓3.25A
  • 65 watts max each port and a 65 watt maximum of the two ports combined

I like the compact design of this charger! While it’s slightly larger than Apple’s stock charger, it packs two ports: one USB-C port and one Quick Charge 3.0 USB port.

The unit features foldable prongs that makes this unit ideal for throwing in a backpack or suitcase for travel.

Amoner USB-C 18 watt wall charger

Performance

The USB-C port’s maximum output is 18 watts. This will allows you to fast charge the iPhone 8 and later, as well as most tablets and phones.

It also charges the Nintendo Switch, but it may not be able to keep up with the power requirements if you are playing a game. However, if your Switch is in sleep mode, it will charge faster than regular USB wall chargers.

I tested out the charger with my Samsung Galaxy Book 12 and it did indeed provide an 18 watt charge to the tablet.

Amoner charging the Samsung Galaxy Book 12

The Quick Charge 3.0 USB port can output 9V for devices that support it. It can also be used with most Qi wireless charging pads (since most don’t include a wall charge) to achieve up to 7.5 or 10 watts of wireless charging power.

Please note that when both ports are in use, there is a 15 watt overall power limitation.

Value

This charger is ideal for both travel or in a more permanent location. For example, it would be ideal for pairing the Quick Charge 3.0 port with a Qi charger on your desk while keeping the USB-C available for your phone or tablet. Or, take it on your travels to charge both your phone and the kid’s Nintendo Switch at night.

Technical Specifications

18W Power Delivery Port Output: DC 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A, 15V/1.2A
18W Quick Charge USB-A Port Output: DC 5V/3A, 9V/2A
USB-C & USB-A Port Simultaneous Output: DC 5V/3A, 15W Max
