I like the compact design of this charger! While it’s slightly larger than Apple’s stock charger, it packs two ports: one USB-C port and one Quick Charge 3.0 USB port.

The unit features foldable prongs that makes this unit ideal for throwing in a backpack or suitcase for travel.

Amoner USB-C 18 watt wall charger

Performance

The USB-C port’s maximum output is 18 watts. This will allows you to fast charge the iPhone 8 and later, as well as most tablets and phones.

It also charges the Nintendo Switch, but it may not be able to keep up with the power requirements if you are playing a game. However, if your Switch is in sleep mode, it will charge faster than regular USB wall chargers.

I tested out the charger with my Samsung Galaxy Book 12 and it did indeed provide an 18 watt charge to the tablet.

The Quick Charge 3.0 USB port can output 9V for devices that support it. It can also be used with most Qi wireless charging pads (since most don’t include a wall charge) to achieve up to 7.5 or 10 watts of wireless charging power.

Please note that when both ports are in use, there is a 15 watt overall power limitation.

Value

This charger is ideal for both travel or in a more permanent location. For example, it would be ideal for pairing the Quick Charge 3.0 port with a Qi charger on your desk while keeping the USB-C available for your phone or tablet. Or, take it on your travels to charge both your phone and the kid’s Nintendo Switch at night.

Aukey is known for quality power banks, and they continue that tradition by adding Quick Charge 2.0 technology to their high capacity 16,000mAh PowerAll external battery.

PROs

  • 16,000mAh capacity: This Aukey unit plenty of power. 16,000mAh is enough to recharge an iPhone about 6 times and an iPad about 2 times. This makes the unit great to have on hand when you’re traveling and won’t have access to a power outlet for a couple days.
  • Compact size: This power bank is compact with a matte plastic casing. While it may be too big for your pocket, it fits nicely in a backpack or laptop bag.
  • AIPower: This smart identification technology from Aukey means that the unit can adapt to basically any device you plug it into it. In my video, you can see that it provides a high amperage charge to my iPad, allowing it to charge at full speed.
  • Quick Charge 2.0 port: The dedicated Quick Charge 2.0 port allows you to fast charge compatible Android phones. It can also be used as a “smart” port for other devices as well.
  • 2 amp input: This unit has a 2 amp input, which allows you to recharge this power bank twice as fast by using a tablet’s charging brick on a “smart” charger that can supply 2 amps of power.
  • Charge gauge: Tapping the power button lights up the button to show how much power is remaining. If it lights up white, there is between 60% and 100% remaining. Green indicates between 20% and 60%, while red means less than 20%.
  • Built-in LED flashlight: Holding the power button turns the built-in LED flashlight on and off.

CONs

  • AC charger not included: This is typical with most power banks, but I thought I would point out that there is no AC charger included with this unit.

Overall, this is a very solid and powerful external battery, with the benefit of fast charging with Quick Charge 2.0. The AIPower technology allows it to adapt to your device’s charging requirements and charge at full speed.

If you have Quick Charge 2.0 devices (or even if you don’t), this 15600mAh power bank from CHOETECH can charge your devices at maximum speed.

PROs

  • 15,600mAh of power: This unit packs a lot of power with it’s 15,600mAh battery. It will recharge an iPhone (and many other smartphones) about 6-7 times. It should also supply 1 full charge (maybe 1.5 charges) to the iPad.
  • Design: I like the compact design of this unit, making it easy to carry in my bag while traveling.
  • One regular charging port: One of the USB ports supplies a standard 1 amp charge, which is fine for charging smartphones, Bluetooth speakers, GPS units, etc.
  • One smart charging port with Quick Charge: The other USB port is smart in that it can supply up to a 2.4 amp charge to larger devices such as iPads and tablets, and it can also adapt to Quick Charge 2.0 charging to charge compatible devices at maximum speed.
  • Quick Charge 2.0 Micro USB input: You can also recharge the power bank itself at maximum speed if you have a Quick Charge 2.0 wall charger. Otherwise, a standard 1 amp charge would take almost a full day to recharge this power bank.
  • Lightning input: If you’re primarily an Apple device user, you can use your existing Lighting cable to recharge this power bank. So when you’re traveling, you can bring just your Lightning cable to recharge both your phone and this power bank.
  • 4 blue LED indicator lights: You can check how much of the 15,600mAh capacity is remaining by taping the power button. Four blue LEDs will indicate if the power bank is at 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, or 0% capacity.

CONs

  • Size: The power bank is somewhat larger than many other power banks due to the 15,600mAh capacity and the extra Quick Charge 2.0 circuitry. However, it still fits nicely in a bag for transporting.

Overall, this is a very well designed unit that performs great as a power bank and packs an impressive 15,600mAh capacity. The Lightning input and Quick Charge 2.0 technology are nice additional features that gives you plenty of charging options.
